News ArchiveOur departure time has changed to 6:45 a.m. at Cove Church. Below is the list of items you need to bring for outing this weekend.
- A sack lunch, water and snacks for the hike on Saturday.
- Compass and flashlight or headlamp.
- A daypack or small backpack to carry lunch and other items you want on the hike.
- Hiking boots
- Rain jacket or poncho
- A sleeping bag and a ground cloth, tarp or piece of plastic to lay your bag on in thePillow and/or sleeping pad if you want.
- At least two extra pairs of socks and an extra pair of shoes besides your hiking boots.
- At least one pair of clothes (pants, shirt, underwear, sweatshirt or jacket) that you will leave in the car and change into when you come out of theAdditional clothes are recommended in case you get wet on the hike.
- Towel
- Garbage bags in which to put wet You can probably use them to carry your sleeping bag and ground cloth into the cave as well.
Please have your parents sign the attached waiver and bring it with you Saturday morning. We will get breakfast in Fort Payne on Sunday morning so bring some money for that meal. Again, we will meet at 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning in the Cove church parking lot. We will return between 11 and 12 on Sunday at the Publix parking lot.
