Canoe Training day change!

No canoe outing on May 19th! The half-day canoe outing on the Flint River has been postponed to June 9th to accommodate all scouts completing a swim test prior to the activity. The purpose of this event is to HAVE FUN, and introduce or strengthen those canoe paddling skills prior to the 50 Mile canoe outing in late June. Scouts will meet at the North Alabama Canoe and Kayak (NACK) Outfitter near the Moontown Airport at approximately 7 am on June 9th. Cost will be approximately $25 per scout and $35 per adult and the trip should be complete by early afternoon on the 9th. Mr. Haider will have the permission slips at the regular meeting on the 4th of June (no need to pay until the morning of event). Please don't forget to get your annual medical forms updated and complete your swim test. Parents, please consider coming along with your son! This is an easy way to enjoy an outing together.

Swim Test May 30th

There will be a swim test on May 30th at Hampton Cove Pool at 10 am. You cannot do any water activity without passing the swim test and it is requird for summer camp. Testing at camp on the first day is crowded so save yourself from being kicked and beaten up and take it now!

This test is required every year so it is that time for pretty much all of us. There will probably be other swim tests scheduled at different times but do it now so you are sure of avoiding it that first day at camp!
